About us
Run by West Cornwall local Emma Mustill, Hidden Hideaways is a small, and very carefully selected, collection of individually owned homes in fantastic locations which their owners let out for holidays. It was founded in 2008, when Emma and her family moved back to Cornwall, where Emma had grown up, from London. Letting out part of the house they moved into as a separate holiday let, Hidden Hideaways grew organically from there, a business Emma now runs in parallel with her career as a lawyer.
Our Ethos
Hidden Hideaways has gradually evolved into collection it is now over many years, as family, friends and friends of friends asked us to let their family homes for them alongside our own. From cool places to stay in Cornwall to family holiday cottages, romantic retreats, walkers’ hideaways, luxury beach houses, dog-friendly escapes and treehouse stays, we only accept places into our collection that we would want to stay in ourselves and which we know are in the absolute best West Cornwall locations. Whether they are in prime holiday destinations or well away from the beaten track, each of them has a deeply ‘secret Cornwall’ feel, which is why we named the company Hidden Hideaways. When our guests stay with us we want them to feel as though they are staying at a (beautifully designed and immaculately cleaned) friend of a friend's house. Feel at home, in other words.

As locals ourselves we know exactly which places to recommend in West Cornwall and beyond, and pride ourselves on keeping that insider insight updated. We want our guests to experience life as a local does so we supply all our guests with an insider’s guide to the area before their holiday, allowing them to plan ahead and make the most of their stay in Cornwall, or have all the information to hand if they’re the spontaneous type and prefer to play it by ear. We also offer a complimentary concierge service for guests who prefer to have more in-depth help with planning a holiday in Cornwall, curating their stay for them using all our local knowledge. If you ask us nicely we’ll even share our favourite secret beaches with you!

While West Cornwall is full to the brim of fabulous galleries to visit, beaches to swim off, coastal paths to stride out along and delicious places to eat and drink at, we also know that many of our guests simply want to rest, recharge and be left in peace to unwind. For that reason we make sure that all our beds are superlatively comfortable, and made up with professionally laundered linen.
